There are many back alleys in the garment district where everyone is is selling their goods probably without licenses. Whenever I am working in those areas I talk a walk to see if there is anyone that may be photographed. I met "D" playing his harmonica. He was playing what sounded like some of that old prison blues type of music. We talked for a bit and he showed me this crazy bump/growth he had on his head. I wanted my portrait to concentrate on his harmonica so I asked if he would keep his hat on for the portrait.
